Classic Car Design vous a proposé ce cabriolet Ford Mustang V8 289 ci code C de 1966. Importé en 2012, c’est une version « standard », tout est simple et manuel ! Elle est donc déjà en carte grise française de collection. Son unique propriétaire français est allé l’acheter en personne aux US.

Ce cabriolet a été en partie restauré, les planchers ont notamment été partiellement remplacés, c’est une auto qui montre des dessous et une carrosserie saine. Le propriétaire a effectué l’entretien par lui-même et n’a parcouru qu’un peu plus de 3000 mls.

A l’extérieur, la peinture est bien brillante même si elle n’est pas parfaite et offre à la voiture une belle prestance encore réhaussée par les jantes Rostyle et la capote blanche. A l’intérieur, la sellerie « Pony » est en très bon état de même que les moquettes et panneaux. L’instrumentation ronde, typique de l’année est récente. L’autoradio néo rétro et ses 2 hauts parleurs sont fonctionnels. La capote est manuelle et se replie aisément.

Mécaniquement, le V8 démarre au quart de tour et il laisse échapper une sonorité bien rauque par les sorties d’échappement dans la jupe. Le compartiment moteur repeint couleur caisse est bien fini. La boite mécanique à 3 rapports est douce et propose un agrément étonnant grâce au couple du V8. Les freins à tambour ont été révisés et la commande est équipée d’un servo frein. La direction est douce et « précise » étant équipée d’un boitier récent démultiplié.

The neo retro car radio and its 2 speakers are functional. The soft top is manual and folds up easily.

Mechanically, the V8 starts right off, and it lets out a very hoarse sound through the exhaust outlets in the skirt. The engine compartment, repainted in body color, is nicely finished. The 3-speed mechanical gearbox is smooth and offers surprising pleasure thanks to the torque of the V8. The drum brakes have been revised and the control is equipped with a brake servo. The steering is smooth and "precise" being equipped with a recent steering box.
