Classic Car Design vous a proposé cette belle Morgan 4/4 Runabout, c’est une rare version épurée qui n’a été produite que durant une année en 2003. La première 4/4 a été lancée en 1936, ce qui en fait la voiture ayant la plus longue durée de production ! Vendue neuve en France en 2004, elle a été achetée en 2006 par son second et actuel propriétaire alors qu’elle avait à peine plus de 2000km. Elle en affiche aujourd’hui moins de 23 000 km ! Equipée du Ford Zetec 1800, c’est une Morgan qui allie le charme de l’ancien avec un moteur actuel discret et performant dont la fiabilité est sans faille.

Ce modèle est en parfait état, proche du neuf. Il est revêtu de la fameuse et recherchée teinte « ivory ». Le style est sobre grâce à l’absence de pare-chocs. Les jantes à rayons apportent la touche vintage indispensable ainsi que le porte-bagages chromé. Equipée de ses side-windows, cette 4/4 bénéficie en plus de la capote « repliable » qui facilite grandement les manipulations. Elle arbore fièrement les badges qui témoignent de sa participation au centenaire Morgan en 2009. Le tonneau-cover permet de recouvrir l’habitacle en mode « roadster ».

Mécaniquement, nous sommes en présence d’une auto fidèle à l’esprit Morgan, des trains roulants légèrement surannés mais qui s’accordent parfaitement à un moteur dont la puissance est suffisante. Ne présentant aucune usure particulière compte-tenu de son faible kilométrage, l’ensemble de la mécanique fait son office. C’est une auto homogène et douce.

The first 4/4 was launched in 1936, which makes it the car having the longest production time! Sold new in France in 2004, it was purchased in 2006 by its second and current owner when it show a bit more over 2000km. Today it has less than 23,000 km! Equipped with a Ford Zetec 1800, it is a Morgan that combines the charm of the old with a current discreet and efficient engine whose reliability is flawless.

This model is in perfect condition, close to new. It is painted with the famous and sought-after "ivory" tint. The styling is sober thanks to the absence of bumpers. The spoked rims bring the essential vintage touch as well as the chrome luggage rack. Equipped with its side-windows, this 4/4 also benefits from the "folding" top which greatly facilitates handling. It proudly wears the badges that testify to its participation in the Morgan Centenary in 2009. The tonneau-cover covers the passenger compartment in "roadster" mode.

Inside, the overall black ambience highlights the pretty ivory jauges. The state calls for no particular remark, it is at the level of the outside.

Mechanically, we are in the presence of a car faithful to the Morgan spirit, running gear that is slightly outdated but which goes perfectly with an engine with sufficient power. Showing no particular wear given to its low mileage, all the mechanic do its job. It’s a homogeneous and smooth car.
