Classic Car Design vous a proposé cette belle Porsche 996 GT3 de 2000. C’est la première du nom, reconnaissable à son étonnant aileron, ici complété par l’Aero kit Cup. Avec la Turbo, c’est la plus sportive des 996. La phase 1 a été produite à moins de 1900 exemplaires. La GT3 est certainement le plus beau dérivé de la 996 qui dans ses autres versions a été souvent décriée pour son esthétique trop proche du Boxter. Les divers appendices aérodynamiques et la suspension surbaissée ne laisse aucun doute sur la destination de cette bête de piste !

A l’extérieur, cet exemplaire est en très bel état global, sans rayures ni bosses. Les cerclages des jantes spécifiques en 18 ne sont pas marqués. On notera seulement et logiquement quelques frottements sous le bouclier avant qui est un peu exposé compte-tenu de la hauteur de caisse…

A l’intérieur, l’ambiance « sportive » saute aux yeux : exit la banquette arrière, place aux sièges baquets à l’avant. Cela n’empêche pas un peu de confort, la climatisation fait partie l’équipement. L’ensemble de la sellerie est en très bel état, y compris le tableau de bord recouvert de cuir.

Mécaniquement, un élément important, le moteur de la GT3 se démarque des autres 996, ici c’est le bloc issu des Porsche 962 et GT1 qui se cache sous le petit capot, connu sous le nom de moteur «Mezger», du nom de son concepteur Hans Mezger. Il est accouplé à une boite de vitesse à 6 rapports tout ce qu’il y a de mécanique ! La sonorité envoutante de 6 à plat est bien présente et incite à aller chercher la zone rouge. Le freinage est à la hauteur de la réputation de la marque. La voiture a bénéficié d’une grande révision cette année, il n’y a donc rien à prévoir sinon rouler !

Voici donc un bel exemplaire de 996 GT3, le carnet est présent et exclusivement tamponné chez Porsche jusqu’en 2014, puis chez un spécialiste de la marque. Cette auto entièrement d’origine n’a pas fréquenté les circuits et se trouve dans bel état de fraicheur malgré son kilométrage, entrez dans l’histoire de la GT3 et offrez-vous celle qui est à l’origine de la lignée.

The GT3 is certainly the most beautiful derivative of the 996, which in its other versions was often criticized for its aesthetics too close to the Boxter. The various aerodynamic appendages and the lowered suspension leave no doubt as to the destination of this track beast!

On the outside, this car is in very good condition, with no scratches or dents. The strapping of the specific 18 inch wheels are not marked. We can only note some rubbing under the front bumper which is a bit exposed considering the height of the body...

Inside, the "sporty" atmosphere is obvious: the rear bench seat is gone and the front bucket seats are in place. This does not prevent a little comfort, as the air conditioning is part of the equipment. All the upholstery is in very good condition, including the leather-covered dashboard.

Mechanically, an important element, the engine of the GT3 is different from the other 996s, here it is the block from the Porsche 962 and GT1 that hides under the small bonnet, known as the "Mezger" engine, named after its designer Hans Mezger. It is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox, which is all mechanical! The bewitching sound of the flat-6 is very present and encourages you to go for the red zone. The braking is up to the reputation of the brand. The car had a major maintenance this year, so there is nothing to do but drive!

Here is a nice example of a 996 GT3, the maintenance book is present and exclusively stamped by Porsche until 2014, then by a specialist of the brand.
